Fuel equivalent

Fuel equivalent
is an accounting unit of the fuel thermal value used for comparing different types of fuel.
It is accepted that the calorific value of 1 kilogram of solid (liquid) fuel equivalent (or 1 cubic meter of gaseous one) is 29.3 MJ (7,000 kcal). The calorific equivalent is used for conversion of natural fuel to fuel equivalent, the value of which is determined by the ratio of the lowest calorific value of a particular fuel. Conversion of natural fuel to fuel equivalent is performed by multiplying the natural fuel volume by the calorific equivalent.
